In 2010, the department engaged RPR Consulting to consult with Forgotten Australians about their
experiences with services, and to learn more about what is needed in the future.
Consultations were undertaken by Ann Porcino, RPR Consulting.
The report on the findings of the survey was produced by Dr Ian Watson.

This background note provides a brief overview and history of the arrival of child migrants from
the United Kingdom and government responses to claims of their mistreatment whilst in
institutional care in Australia.
Similarly, Australian-born children raised in institutional care during this time have also claimed mistreatment.
This background note also provides an overview of government responses to their claims.
